• STEP 1

    Arrange a ValuationThe first stage is to contact us to arrange a valuation of your items.  We have a number of options available:  

    • Free Online Auction Valuations: Email or what’s app your item/s to be valued and provide any additional information if you have any. 
    • Home Visits: Contact us to make an appointment for a valuer to visit your home.  Provide your contact details and a brief description of what you are selling. Either call or email/ what’s app.
    • Visit our warehouse in Harlow, Essex with your items.  Please book an appointment time in advance to see our specialist.

  • STEP 2

    The Selling Process

    Before the auction: 

    • Once you have received your valuation and you have decided to proceed to auction, we ask you to arrange delivery of your item(s) to our warehouse.  Please book in the day and time for your delivery.
    • We will discuss with you a realistic reserve price and reserve the right to turn down your item if we feel it is not realistic.  However, if you do still wish to proceed you will be charged an unsold lot charge. We will charge the agreed commission rate per lot on the reserve figure.  
    • Upon the delivery of your items you will receive a receipt, which will form your contract with Antiques & Chic Auctions and outline the agreed fees with our Terms & Conditions. It will also list estimatesreserve prices (if you choose to have one) and the auction dates and running times. We will not sell your item(s) if it fails to reach the reserve price at auction.
    • Our auctions are timed auctions that will run over a week or shorter and you will be informed of the duration when consigning.
    • Your item(s) will be then be catalogued, photographed and researched, where necessary, in preparation for the auction. We provide high resolution images, as well as full descriptions for all the lots in our sales.
    • Before the start date of the auction you will receive pre-sales advice by email with the link to our online auction.
  • STEP 3

    The Auction

    • You can view the online auction catalogue through our website by subscribing. A short and free process.
    • Antiques & Chic has an extensive UK and international following with trade and public alike. We have a large social media following and will be advertising extensively on all our platforms.  Newsletters will be sent out to our thousands of followers.  We will also be using paid adverts on social media platforms to further advertise each our auctions.
    • You will be able to follow your items progress during our timed auction by subscribing to our auctions.
  • STEP 4

    After the auction: 

    • At few days after the auction, you will receive a post-sale advice by email which will inform you of the prices your items(s) achieved at auction and provide advice for any unsold lots.
    • Once the item(s) have been paid for by the buyer, the agreed fees and charges will be deducted from the hammer price.  
    • You will receive a vendor statement outlining these deductions and then payment will be made 28 days after the sale by bank transfer.
    • Please note that if your item does not sell then we request you pick up your item up within 5 working days of the sale ending (unless agreed otherwise) Following this we reserve the right to charge storage fees at £3 a day. Your item/s will be released back to you once you have paid the total storage fees.
  • VENDOR FEES

    Vendor Fees

    Our fees structure is straightforward with no additional or hidden charges.  

    • Vendor Commission: 15% of the hammer price subject to a minimum charge of £15 per lot
    • Unsold lots charge: Only payable if we feel the reserve was unreasonably high and this will have been discussed with you in advance of the sale.  If applicable, we will charge the agreed commission rate per lot on the reserve figure.
